They left the fields at night and returned to cabins where they lived with their families. 21st century slaves live and work in prisons, often far away from their families and friends, and they seldom get outside. On any given day, 80,000 prison slaves are in solitary confinement, some for decades. In many ways, the brutality of slavery in the USA is worse now than before the Civil War.

On any given day, 80,000 prison slaves are in solitary confinement, some for decades. In many ways, the brutality of slavery in the USA is worse now than before the Civil War.
