Human Rights News from MaryLovesJustice

Human rights news from Mary Neal's  inbox at MaryLovesJustice@gmail.com
Please read and share the eight(8) reports below (twelve(12) URLs):

NDAA Concentration Camps: As presidential election returns rolled in Tuesday night, the U.S. Justice Department filed its opening brief defending a controversial military detention provision that a trial judge in Manhattan declared unconstitutional earlier this year. The suit, filed in Manhattan federal district court by a group of journalists and activists, challenges a section of the National Defense Authorization Act that DOJ lawyers said reaffirms presidential detention authority under the Authorization for Use of Military Force, or AUMF.  http://legaltimes.typepad.com/blt/2012/11/doj-defends-controversial-military-detention-provision-.html

ANOTHER black mental patient was killed - this one in an Oklahoma jail without food or water http://solitarywatch.com/2012/11/05/mentally-ill-man-dies-injured-and-alone-in-a-tulsa-jail-cell/
In a horrific story out of Oklahoma, lawyers representing the estate of a prisoner who was found dead in the Tulsa Jail have sued the local sheriff’s office and the jail’s private health care provider. Elliott Earl Williams, 37, was pronounced dead in his cell at 11:21 a.m. Oct. 27, 2011, after allegedly going days without food and water

Net freedom, anyone? It’s of deep concern that a conference on internet freedom (the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), a United Nations initiative) is being held in one of the world’s most tawdry dictatorships. Azerbaijan is a country with a track record of persecuting internet activists, such as bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizada. Elnur Majidli, a Strasbourg-based blogger and internet activist, was threatened with a 12 year jail sentence for "inciting hatred" after setting up Facebook groups that facilitated rare public protests in Azerbaijan during 2011. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/azerbaijan/9658427/Why-is-a-crucial-conference-on-internet-freedom-taking-place-in-a-dictatorship.html

New York's mayor bans food donations to homeless shelters
http://now.msn.com/hard-to-swallow-bloomberg-bans-food-donations-to-homeless-shelters
Mayor Michael Bloomberg instituted a ban on food donations to homeless shelters. No, not because of food contamination, but because the city can’t properly assess salt, fat and fiber in donated food.

Social Cleansing' in Mexican Cities: Homeless People and Panhandlers Targeted by Police
http://www.alternet.org/world/social-cleansing-mexican-cities-homeless-people-and-panhandlers-targeted-police
Non-governmental organizations in Mexico are presenting a complaint on November 2 before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights about government mistreatment and “social cleansing” of thousands of people living on the street in several of the country’s cities. Activists say the removal of homeless and poor people to places outside city limits violates their human rights. [Homeless people and panhandlers are frequently arrested and sometimes killed in the United States, especially the mentally ill.]

Cynthia McKinney will speak on "Empire," a post-election show on Al Jazeera English. America has elected a president and chosen a vision for leadership at home and around the world. Our guests will provide thoughtful analysis of what we can expect in the future as President Obama serves his second term. We will take a closer look at one of the fundamental polarizing forces of American politics: big government versus small government. How far can the President go to implement his agenda? And Empire will examine American leadership in an ever changing multi-polar world, and ask what image will America project in the next four years? The show will also be posted in its entirety on the website http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/empire/

As director of Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill, I advocate for mandated mental health treatment for persons exiting jails and mental hospitals and subsistence assistance through AOT programs. I recommend that mentally ill persons start or continue psychiatric treatment to avoid crises. Many people oppose psychiatric medications to their own harm. However, there are abuses. Dr. Randy Short asked that I share the following videos with my readers.

Military and UN, Help Mary Neal Have Net Freedom

Dear Military families, United Nations, and online friends:

Plese see the video,"H.R.619 Advocacy Censored at AIMI" at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTnBUYoJtk4  That video captured real-time cyberstalking to prevent my advocacy to decriminalize mental illness. In January 2009, H.R.619 was introduced in Congress by Rep. Eddie Johnson (D-TX), a former psychiatric nurse. If H.R.619 had been passed, it would have resumed Medicaid insurance for inpatient care for mentally challenged people and helped more of them stay out of jails and prisons. Unfortunately, Medicaid insurance for mental inpatients stopped being available in the 1970s for mental inpatients. The need for private prisons and jails arose when our correctional institutions were overrun with sick Americans who were released from hospitals or never had the opportunity of inpatient care when needed because the mental hospitals were already gone by the time their symptoms emerged. (This email has eleven(11) links before the words "Mary Neal Google Profile" appear near the bottom.) Mainstream media never reported that H.R.619 was on the table, and my own efforts to publicize the bill and get widespread support for H.R.619 were cyberstalked. Prison investors make hundreds of BILLIONS per year incarcerating people and supplying major corporations and government entities with prison workers for whom they do not pay minimum wage or give employee benefits. I feel that private prison profiteers may have hired my cyberstalkers, but police and justice officials refuse to investigate the IP numbers my computer security system captured that belong to these criminals. Neither do they investigate the car tag of one stalker who followed me in person to control my Internet usage at the public library. He admitted he is "paid well" to follow me. Police and justice officials refuse to stop stalkers from infringing on my freedom of press rights that military people risk their lives for Americans to have.

Please read and share "Petition: Help Iraq and Afghanistan Vets of America" in my MaryLovesJustice blog at this link http://marylovesjustice.blogspot.com/2012/04/petition-help-iraq-and-afghanistan-vets.html - See how important it is for our veterans and other mentally challenged people to have good mental health care. Read more information about my censorship to prevent advocacy to decriminalize mental illness by putting "Mary Neal Censored" into your Google browser.

Military families, UN, and friends, it would help me to stand up for veterans and others who have mental illness if you would write to the Attorney General of the United States of America and ask Atty. Gen. Holder to stop the cyberstalkers who interfere with my freedom of press rights that our veterans and active duty military families sacrifice to protect. Email   AskDOJ@usdoj.gov . If they let the link appear live for ASSISTANCE TO THE INCARCERATED MENTALLY ILL at the bottom of this email and the article "Petition: Help Iraq and Afghanistan Vets of America," then please click the link to visit our online group at Care2 where you can join the quest for decriminalization of mental illness. You should find much information at that website to help mentally challenged people and their families, especially people who are incarcerated or who are at risk for incarceration because of their "illegal" health condition.

Approximately 1.25 million inmates are mentally ill, but they should be in hospitals or community care programs depending on their offenses and functionality.  Congratulate the USDOJ for recently certifying Assisted Outpatient Programs (AOT) like Kendra's Law. AOTs provide community care and subsistence assistance for mentally challenged people and already proved to reduce homelessness, arrests, re-hospitalization, and incarceration by up to 85% among New York program participants. The rate of improvement was derived by comparing their experiences while in the AOT program with their experiences three years before joining the AOT program. The significant improvement saved lives, restored people to wholesome living, saved tax money on police services as well as court and prison costs, and made communities safer. If the four assigned cyberstalkers who go online with me to interfere with my advocacy for decriminalizing mental illness make the link to AIMI inactive, please just Google the name or copy and paste the link in your browser for http://www.Care2.com/c2c/group/aimi . Also, please browse for my other blogs for more information on mental illness. If you need assistance publishing petitions or other advocacy, comment below or email me at MaryLovesJustice@gmail.com . You can also give me a call at my phone number listed in the top margin at my "MaryLovesJustice" blog and my "Exposed: FreeSpeakBlog."

Please ask Attorney General Holder to investigate impediments to my freedom of press by emailing him at AskDOJ@usdoj.gov. Please share the video giving an example of interference to prevent my advocating for H.R.619. Many people who need inpatient care are turned away every day because of lack of bed space since so many mental hospitals are closing or have already closed. No one should deny health care to use sick American citizens, especially veterans, for prison profits. No one should curtail an American's freedom of press to hide the secret arrest and unexplained jail death of her mentally and physically disabled brother, which is why I started being censored initially. Visit WRONGFUL DEATH OF LARRY NEAL website at http://WrongfulDeathOfLarryNeal.com  for some of the details. As always, soldiers and Marines, we need your help. Stop domestic terrorism, please.

H.R.619 Advocacy Censored at AIMI   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTnBUYoJtk4 - Five more videos, in addition to the H.R.619 video, showing how challenging it is for me to stand up for veterans and others to have mental health care is in this article: SIX VIDEOS PROVE MARY NEAL'S CENSORSHIP http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/four-mary-neal-censorship-videos.html

Thank you for helping me to help others. I am Director of Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill. Visit us online at http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/aimi  . See how much your help for freedom of press is needed by reading some of the stories at my Dog Justice for Mentally Ill blog at http://DogJusticeforMentallyIll.blogspot.com   - a blog the cyberstalkers often hide because of how negligent and cruel the reports therein show the system can be to mentally challenged Americans, including veterans, and because the blog accepts advertising and I am financially persecuted for revealing this problem.

Repeat of important paragraph:  Please read and share "Petition: Help Iraq and Afghanistan Vets of America" in my MaryLovesJustice blog at this link http://marylovesjustice.blogspot.com/2012/04/petition-help-iraq-and-afghanistan-vets.html - See how important it is to our veterans to have good mental health care.
